Which appears on the free Sony Crackle streaming service. it has a great cast which includes Martin Freeman, Adam Brody and Ron Perlman.

Set in Miami Florida it follows an unlikely group of people behind an unregulated digital currency tech startup called Jen Coyne. As they’re building their business, they’re also being followed by a crooked FBI financial crimes agent played by free men willing to do whatever it takes to bring them down.

This is one of those shows that takes a few episodes to set up its complicated plot. After which you’ll be rewarded with a gripping drama with terrific storytelling and stellar performances by the entire cast. There are three seasons of startup to watch right now on Sony Crackle.

2. Fortitude

The sci-fi psychological series appears on the British own Sky Atlantic and is available to stream on Amazon Prime.

The story takes place on a Norwegian Arctic Island dealing with an increasing number of strange deaths due to an exotic parasite that has survived for thousands of years in the eyes. It features an excellent international ensemble cast, a few names you might recognize include Stanley Tucci Dennis Quaid and Richard dormer.

Just a word of caution before you start watching the show without giving away any spoilers.

There’s a scene in the latter half of season 2 that for most guys might be difficult to watch there’s you’re warning.

All three seasons have already aired on Sky Atlantic with the third being the last. Amazon Prime members can now watch the first two seasons.

3. Animal Kingdom

It is an American crime drama based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name. The series on the TNT network is set in a surfing community in Southern California.

It follows a 17-year-old boy who moves in with his estranged relatives known as the Cody’s after a heroin overdose kills his mother. The matriarch of the family is played by Ellen Barkin.

Three seasons have already been broadcast on TNT and have been renewed for a fourth. Additionally, it is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.

4. American Gods

Based on Neil Gaiman’s original novel. Appearance on the Starz Premium cable network.

The show has a convoluted plot which will appeal to folks who enjoy shows like preacher or Legion but will confuse those people who normally watch shows like NCIS or Matlock.

In short, American Gods is about a war brewing between the old gods and the new gods. while the old gods are defending their existence and rebuilding their influence, they feel threatened by the new gods like technology and media.

American Gods features a fantastic cast which includes Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber and the always charismatic Ian McShane who is having a busy year having just completed the long-awaited Deadwood movie.

The first season of American Gods aired in 2017. With the second season premiering on March 10th 2019.

5. Bodyguard

It is a British political thriller appearing on BBC One in the UK and Ireland and streaming on Netflix everywhere else.

Starring Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes it’s about a British Army War veteran now working as a police sergeant in the royalty and specialist protection branch. He’s assigned with the task of protecting a controversial politician whose beliefs he does not agree with. It’s a well-crafted show with plenty of tension that will have you on the edge of your seat.

All six bench worthy episodes of Bodyguard are available right now on Netflix. The show’s creator says it’s possible there could be a second season.

6. The Expanse

This is an American science fiction drama based on the books by James S. A. Corey. the series that’s been hiding out on the Syfy network.

It is based hundreds of years in the future where humanity has colonized the solar system. It follows a group of anti-heroes who work to uncover the greatest conspiracy in human history while rising tensions have Earth and Mars on the brink of war.

With its massive budget the expanse was canceled by Syfy after three seasons. Amazon Prime video quickly picked up the series for a fourth season with the release date expected sometime before the end of 2019. All three seasons are available right now on Amazon Prime.

7. The Sinner

This is a USA Network anthology crime drama mystery series. Bill Pullman and Jessica Biel co-star in the first two seasons.

Set in New York state, the series follows detective Harry Ambrose who works to solve murders committed by seemingly ordinary people. If you’re looking for an intelligent whodunit with twists and turns this is the show for you.

The sinner is available on Netflix and has been renewed by the USA Network for a third season.

8. Santa Clarita Diet

Santa Clarita Diet is a horror comedy film directed by Drew Barrymore and starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant.

This Netflix original series is about a couple named Joel and Sheila who are real estate agents in Santa Clarita California. They deal with a series of obstacles when Sheila transforms into a zombie and begins craving human flesh that makes her feel better than ever. it’s a crazy premise and admitting lies like most people.

9. The Alienist

It is a psychological thriller set in New York city during the mid-1890s.

Its impressive cast includes Daniel Bruhl Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning. Their characters make up a team assembled to investigate a serial killer who is responsible for the murders of street children.

While the pacing can be slow at times it features great acting along with fantastic production values. Most notably the set designs are some of the bests you will see on tv.

TNT has ordered a sequel series which will be called the angel of darkness.

10. Humans

It is a science fiction thriller co-produced by Channel 4 and kudos in the United Kingdom along with AMC in the United States.

This series based in a parallel universe is about the human interactions with their highly developed robot servants known as Sense which are very similar to real humans.

The show offers insightful storytelling and a possible glimpse into our future if robots were to exhibit human characteristics. three seasons have already been broadcast. Humans is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
