How To Remove Yahoo Search From Chrome

Both Chrome and Google Search are backed by the same firm, which is known simply as Google. Therefore, as you probably have guessed, Google is the default search engine that Chrome uses.

However, since there are potentially undesirable applications (PUPs) on your computer, your Chrome browser may automatically switch to other search engines such as Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and a few others. This may happen if you have PUPs installed on your computer. Changing the settings each time something like this happens may be a time-consuming and frustrating process.

Remove Yahoo’s Search Engine From Chrome

In Chrome, you can remove Yahoo from the list of default search engines available to minimize further the chance that your browser will default to Yahoo again. Here’s how:

  1. Open Chrome’s settings.
  2. From the left sidebar, navigate to Search Engine.
  3. Click on Manage Search Engines.
  4. Tap on the three vertical dots right next to Yahoo.
  5. Hit Remove from list.
