How to Remove Your Gmail Account From Your Devices (PC, iPhone, Android)

Delete Gmail from the PC

  1. Before deleting your Gmail service, download your data.
  2. Go to your Google Account.
  3. On the left, click Data & privacy.
  4. Scroll to “Data from apps and services you use.”
  5. Under “Download or delete your data,” click Delete a Google service. You may need to sign in.
  6. Next to “Gmail,” click Delete.
  7. Enter an existing email address you want to sign in with and click Send verification email. This email can’t be a Gmail address.
  8. To verify your existing email address, you get an email at the existing email address. Until you verify the new email address, your Gmail address won’t be deleted.

Delete Gmail from Android

  1. Launch the Settings app on your Android mobile device, whether it is a phone or a tablet. Google Take control of your own Google Account.
  2. Tap the Data & privacy option at the very top.
  3. Move down the page until you reach “Data from applications and services you use.”
  4. Tap Delete a Google service located under the heading “Download or delete your data.” It’s possible that you’ll need to sign in.
  5. Tap the Delete button next to “Gmail.”
  6. Tap the Send verification email button once you have entered an existing email address that you wish to sign in with. This email address is not allowed to be a Gmail account.
  7. In order to validate your current email address, you will get a verification email at the current email address. Your old Gmail address won’t be removed until you validate the new one, so don’t bother changing it just yet.

Delete Gmail from iPhone & iPad

  1. Before deleting your Gmail service, download your data.
    1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app.
    2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial and then Google Account. If you don’t use Gmail, go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. At the top, tap Data & privacy.
  3. Scroll to “Data from apps and services you use.”
  4. Under “Download or delete your data,” tap Delete a Google service. You may need to sign in.
  5. Next to “Gmail,” tap Delete.
