Do you want to add a link to your Instagram Story? First, we have some wonderful news, and then we have some even better news. (As a special added treat, we have a cool new trick for the Instagram Story!)
Even though Instagram has discontinued its swipe-up function, users may still add links to their Stories by making use of the Instagram link sticker tool. This is the good news.
When it comes to including a link in your Story, the even better news is that Instagram has finally done away with the requirement that you must have at least 10,000 followers. In principle, ALL users now have access to the link stickers that are available on Instagram. (You can find out more about the update by clicking here.)
This brings us to the second piece of good news: we know of a straightforward way to personalize your link sticker so that it is congruent with the aesthetic of your brand and website. Continue reading to learn all of the stages.
Who is eligible to use the link sticker on Instagram?
It is anticipated that everyone will have access to the link sticker for use in their Instagram Stories by the month of October 2021. (not just accounts with more than 10,000 followers).
We’ve heard from a lot of folks (even our own social team at Hootsuite!) who still don’t see the sticker showing up in their accounts. Of course, as is often the case, a roll-out across a billion accounts takes time. If this is the situation with your account, the only piece of advice we can provide is to ensure that your Instagram app is always up to date and to say a prayer. It will become apparent at some point.
And if you’re one of the fortunate few who already has connections at Instagram HQ, why not drop those connections a line and ask them for some help?
Here’s how to add a link sticker on stories:
- Head to the Instagram Stories sticker tray and select the link sticker.
NOTE: If you don’t have access to link stickers just yet, sit tight. Instagram only just made this announcement, so it may take a few days to see them in the lineup.
- Paste your link into the link field.
- Switch the text and color by tapping on the sticker. It’s that easy!
Later allows you to create a landing page with multiple buttons and a fully clickable version of your Instagram feed — that you can pop straight in your Instagram link in bio.
